You know who you are. You know what you want.

Breakthrough Boot Camp starts next week, and I am really digging in to this project. It is close to my heart, and it vibrates with my core being. I want people to be their true selves, and if it's to pursue a creative life, then I want it for them even more. I can identify with these people, and I know the drive that is needed to live that life.

The quote by Lao Tzu: "At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want," is really at the center of it all. You know you want a more self-reliant, creative life - but how do you get there? Or, if you think you're on the right track, is there something stopping you from reaching your full potential?

Often, the thing that stops us from being our authentic self is... ourselves. Deep down we do know who we are, and we know what we want - but it goes against what we've been told all of our lives, so we bury it deep, and try to deny it.

A little about me: I always knew I wanted to be a mother, and when the time came I thought it would completely fulfill me... but it didn't. The guilt involved with that - that these children weren't enough - was so strong and overwhelming that I wasted a good two years stressed and unhappy. Because of that, there was less joy in my everyday dealings with my babies. If I had just acknowledged that I was ready for more in my life... if I gave myself permission to want what I wanted... I could have enjoyed my time with my babies so much more. Why? Because I would have known where I was going, and that there was something for me outside of my role as a mother.

In Breakthrough Boot Camp we are going to figure out what we really want to want, versus what we think we should want before we do anything else. We're going to free ourselves from what's slowing us down so that we have more time in our lives for what matters to us most. From there, we can take on the big ideas, like priorities, goals, reality, and finding our own unique edge in the creative world. Everyone's story is different, so there is no one-size-fits-all solution. The breakthrough will happen in your own way on your own time, but I hope you'll let me be your guide.

  1. Love that statement - so so true. And you're so right about getting in our own way when it comes to being ourselves.

  2. Really looking forward to this Ashley, I too am a stay at home Mum with dreams of setting up my own business. I've wanted to do this since before I had my son and thought that now I'm not working I would finally have the time to set this up. Ha!! Silly me. Can't wait for the boot camp to help me get things moving.

  3. ... you know who you are You know what you want".
Great saying. But once you know who you are and what you want, you have to have the courage to live your dream and that's not the easy part.
