I design and sell my own stationery online and in stores.

Basically, that means I created my own dream job. I can truly say that I do what I love.

I believe anyone can be what they desire... if they do what it takes to make it happen. 

I believe that positive thinking is essential to actualizing our desires - but taking action is equally important.

Working at Home

I started my paper goods business in 2007 while I was a student at Michigan State University. I wanted to get my ideas out there while I finished my degree and worked part-time in HR. Six years later I have my degree, a baby, a move to Chicago, another baby, a move BACK to Michigan and a first home purchase under my belt. I am glowing every day that I get to wake up and be creative.

About She Makes A Home

She Makes a Home is where I share my daily journey of working from home while I care for my children. This house is our first home, and I am slowly (but surely!) making it ours. As a lifestyle site, I share a combination of house projects; recipes; DIY crafts; art and handmade finds; and indie business inspiration to help those who want to work from home as well.

    1. I'm an introverted person who enjoys being at home.

    2. I'm a mother to two girls - 1 year apart.

    3. I almost became a geologist - I still collect rocks, minerals, and fossils.

    4. I have a goal to visit every state in the USA - so far I'm 14/50.

    5. I've lived in Michigan my entire life, except for those three years I lived in and around Chicago, IL after college. What can I say, I love snow.

    6. I drink coffee every day - without fail.

    7. Duran Duran is my favorite band of all time - one of their songs was #1 the week I was born.

    8. My husband and I went to the same high school, but we never spoke to each other until a month after graduation. 4 years later, we were married.

    9. I play the violin.

    10. My dream lunch date would include Laura Ingalls Wilder, Thomas Jefferson, and Ewan McGregor. We'd all go out for falafel.
