She Makes a Home is a lifestyle blog for those who live, play, and work at home.

My name is Ashley Pahl, and I started She Makes a Home (formerly Indie Pretty Projects) in January 2008, shortly after founding my handmade paper goods business. I wanted to document my experience of being an indie business owner, and empower others who wanted to turn their hobby into a business. As baby girls and a move into our first house changed my life, so too did the blog change direction. It went from a strictly business blog, to a lifestyle site featuring householding, work-at-home motherhood, recipes, home decor, and DIY projects.

Want to know more about my blogging journey? You can read about that here.

As a navigator of the work-at-home lifestyle, I have been featured on sites such as Babble.com, Etsy, The Huffington Post; Simply Handmade MagazineRise & Shine - an e-book for Creative Entreprenuers; and the book I Heart Stationery.

My style, craft projects, and recipes have been mentioned on some wonderful sites such as Decor8; iVillage; AOL DIYLife and I wrote as a weekly contributor to Going Home to Roost for over a year.

I've also created an online winter holiday magazine - Snowed In, which received a shout-out from Apartment Therapy!

My first e-book, The Shop Start Kit, is coming in June 2014; while my first print book, a currently-untitled craft book, is in production.

My Paper Goods Shop

My paper goods shop started in 2007, back when Etsy was just starting to really pick up steam. Since then I had my paper cutting designs featured in the print book: I Heart Stationery by Charlotte Rivers; became Etsy's Featured Seller in 2012; was chosen as a Babble.com Top 50 Parents of Etsy; was the featured interview in Simply Handmade Magazine in 2013; and had my work mentioned on fabulous blogs such as Design*Sponge, Apartment Therapy, Elephantine, DESIGNLOVEFEST, SFGirlbyBay, and more!

On She Makes A Home, I am keeping sponsorship simple for small, independent business. She Makes a Home received over 61,000 page views between January 15th, 2014 and February 15th, 2014. Readers also access this content via subscription, with 7360+ subscribers and followers via Feedburner, newsletter, Facebook, Pinterest, BlogLovin' and Issuu.
